Beginning Sound Game

Tell the child that the following words start with the /l/ sound:  lonely, long and line. Have your child listen for this sound and indicate with thumbs up when he or she hears it.

Ending Sound Game 

Tell the child that the following words end with the /l/ sound:  girl, tall and pal. Have your child listen for this sound and indicate with thumbs up when he or she hears it.

Matching Vowel Sounds

Take out the stick puppets for the letters o and e or write the letters on papers.  Say the words in the list below, emphasizing the vowel sound in each word.  Signal your child with your hand when he or she should listen.  Have your child touch the puppet that makes the sound heard in the word.

Beginning Sound Game

Tell the child that the following words start with the /p/ sound:  pal, propellor and passenger. Have your child listen for this sound and indicate with thumbs up when he or she hears it.

Ending Sound Game 

Tell the child that the following words end with the /p/ sound:  up, slip and loop. Have your child listen for this sound and indicate with thumbs up when he or she hears it.

Take out the Separator Alligator stick puppet and say the words on the list below as the Alligator would say them.  Help your child blend the sounds if your child has difficulty.
