Middle Sound Game

Play the middle sound game for the /eh/ sound.  Tell your child that the following words have an /eh/ sound in the middle:  pet, wet, mess.  Can your child tell which words on the list below have an /eh/ sound?

Ending Sound Game

Play the ending sound game for the /ee/ sound.  Tell your child that the following words have an /ee/ sound at the end:  she, bee and we.  Have your child listen for this sound and indicate with thumbs up when he or she hears it.

Separator Alligator

Take out the Separator Alligator stick puppet and say the words on the list below as the Alligator would say them.  Help your child blend the sounds if your child had difficulty, following the procedure used in previous lessons.

Beginning Sound Game

Tell your child that the following words start with the /n/ sound:  no, noise and neighbor.  Have your child listen for this sound and indicate with thumbs up when he or she hears it. Play the game for the words below:

Matching Middle Sounds

Take out the stick puppets for the letters i and o, or write these letters on a piece of paper.  Say the words in the list below, emphasizing the vowel sound in each word.  Signal your child with your hand when he or she should listen.  Have your child touch the puppet that makes the sound heard in the word.
